iOS 17.0.3 official version released

This morning, Apple pushed the official version of iOS 17.0.3, with the update version number 21A360. According to the update log provided by Apple, this update is mainly a bug fix and security update, and solves the problem that may cause the iPhone to run hotter than expected.

After the iPhone 15 Pro series was released, many users said that their new iPhones had overheating problems. Apple also responded to the problem as soon as possible.

This is due to adaptation issues that may exist in some third-party applications, and it is stated that this problem will be fixed in subsequent software updates.

The official version of iOS 17.0.3 released by Apple today is to fix this problem on iPhone 15.

After the release of this version, foreign media 9to5Mac also conducted a benchmark test on iOS 17.0.3 as soon as possible. The results showed that after multiple rounds of benchmark tests using iPhone 15 Pro Max, the new system showed little change, and even a slight improvement.

Later, Apple also stated that it would not solve the heating problem by reducing the frequency of the new system, so everyone can update with confidence. Therefore, friends who have encountered abnormal heating of the new machine before are recommended to upgrade to the latest version of iOS 17.0.3.

iPhone 16 is expected to be equipped with A18

This year's iPhone 15 Pro series is equipped with the latest A17 Pro chip, while the two basic iPhone 15 models use the A16 chip of last year's iPhone 14 Pro. According to Apple's practice in the past two years, next year's iPhone 16 will use the A17 chip for the two basic versions, and only the iPhone 16 Pro/Ultra will be equipped with the A18 chip.

But recently, Apple industry chain analyst Jeff Pu put forward a different opinion. He said that next year's four iPhone 16 models will all adopt the new A18 chip.

He said: "We view the A17 Pro as a transitional design, and the current forecast is that all iPhone 16 models will use the A18 chip and use TSMC's N3E process."

Among them, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will use A18 (N3E), while iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will use A18 Pro (N3E).
