Three major pitfalls in developing WeChat mini-programs

Three major pitfalls in developing WeChat mini-programs

Trap 1: "Mini Program Third-Party Platform" Template

Of course, not all companies claiming to use mini program templates are scams. However, there are indeed many third-party platforms on the Internet that have begun to release "high cost-effectiveness" information to users in need, claiming that as long as users use their own templates, they can easily set up their own WeChat mini-programs. The cost is only the "template fee", and the rest are all included. For companies without development capabilities, the temptation may be huge. Therefore, in order to save costs, companies purchase so-called templates. It seems that this solves the problem of a third party managing their own code and the actual control of WeChat mini-programs falling into the hands of others. But in fact, many of these companies are building a scam of "charging little or no fees for templates, managing them at high prices, or even tampering with the source code to indirectly control the business of the agency."

Trap 2: Using low prices to win customers, but the product quality is poor

After the opening of the "Mini Program Third-Party Platform", merchants can develop WeChat Mini Programs more easily. Through a simple Mini Program account authorization action, they can obtain a Mini Program, making technical development easier. This would have been a very good thing, but with the rise of many informal third-party development companies, the market has become price chaotic. Many companies have put forward the slogan of "3,000 yuan for a full package", but it is questionable how these companies actually operate and support their own technical teams, and whether they even have their own technical teams. At present, the monthly salary requirement for a mature front-end developer is more than 10,000 yuan, and that for a back-end technician is close to 20,000 yuan/month. The quality of the mini program presented by this 3,000 yuan quotation can be imagined. It is basically impossible to meet the customer's more basic needs, because the background and API docking of the mini program requires very complicated processes and time. The time cost and labor cost need to be considered for a formal company.

Trap 3: High-priced development is a boon for the development company

Many third-party mini-program development platforms actually build a framework platform first and allow all other customers to settle in their own platform backend. Such mini-programs may seem no different from other programs on the surface, but they are actually lacking in integrity and cannot be separated from the parent company that developed them. That is to say, the WeChat mini-programs developed by companies at high prices are simply grafted onto other people's main programs. Just like when you open a Taobao store, you may be charged high store display fees by Taobao at any time. Unfortunately, the platform that customers are connected to is not a weighted platform like Taobao.
