[Apple changes the rules again] AppStore/Featured Recommendations: What does the sudden revision mean to developers?

Those who like to pay attention to the mobile AppStore know that every Friday is the day when the Apple AppStore/Featured Recommendations section is updated. The time is about 09:00 Beijing time. Occasionally, you can see the update in advance at 08:00. This morning at 08:00, I like to habitually open the AppStore to see which apps Apple has updated. I found that the "AppStore/Featured Recommendations" on the Apple mobile phone has been revised, mainly reflected in:

1. "New Apps of the Week" was renamed "Fresh Apps" and moved to the second section; (It seems to indicate that it will be updated at any time...)

2. "New Games of the Week" was moved from the second section to the first section; ( Games , paid purchases, built-in charges, Apple has always been so snobbish, but there is nothing wrong with that, right?)

3. The small picture app recommendations under "Fresh Apps" are changed to 2 consecutive rows, which can be dragged left and right; (Apple editor, don't you think it's ugly?)

4. This issue introduces the "Super Fun Selfie" special topic, recommending Apps by using App preview videos; (App preview videos, Apple has launched them for so long, have you recorded one? They have always had weight, but this time they are more obvious)

Without pictures, there is no truth; with pictures, there is truth:

Figure 1: Articles 1 and 2

Figure 2: Unedited screenshot

Figure 3: Article 3

Figure 4: Item 4. What is enviable is that two apps from Meitu were selected for this topic, one is Trendy Selfie and the other is AirBrush

Figure 5: Just to see the representative oxygen beauties of trendy selfies (the beauties selected in the screenshots or videos of the Meitu App are of high quality, not artificial, and have temperament, what do you think?)

Figure 6: The details page of the Fun Selfie feature. Although it’s a bit empty, it shows that Apple is strengthening the weight of App preview videos. At the same time, we can see “AirBrush”, which has been recommended in the US region!

There was news before that Apple’s new AppStore operations executives are reforming some existing rules, such as no longer regularly updating the AppStore/featured recommendations every week. I couldn’t find the article, but if anyone has related articles, please send me the link. The NBA China official app, which was launched last week, was recommended as an “Excellent New App” on a non-Friday, which is enough to illustrate this point.

What does this revision mean for developers?

1, 2, 3, and 4 in the previous article have all been clearly stated, hahaha!

Perhaps this is just one of the various recent rule changes in Apple (search bidding rumors, TOP10 being frequently brushed, and hot keyword rankings fluctuating dramatically), and it may not be the final version of the revised boutique recommendation. As developers, we can only passively accept the changes and embrace a bright future, um!

Pay more attention to Apple’s developments and follow Apple’s changes. Maybe you will be the next one to be recommended. Good luck everyone!
