Chinanews.com, Dalian, July 23 (Reporter Yang Yi) The Dalian Municipal People's Government Information Office held a press conference on the morning of the 23rd to report the latest situation of newly confirmed cases in the city.

Luo Weixing, deputy secretary-general of the Dalian Municipal Government, said at the press conference that starting from that day, nucleic acid tests will be conducted on 160,000 people in the Dalian Bay area, 20,000 people in the industrial community of Maqiaozi Street, Jinpu New District, and nearly 10,000 people in the Gongren Village community of Xigang District, and all areas where the epidemic may be spread will be subject to full coverage of nucleic acid testing.

On July 22, one local confirmed case of COVID-19 appeared in Dalian. During the epidemiological investigation and screening of his close contacts, 2 more cases and 12 asymptomatic infections were found. (over)
