Who created the programmer bubble?

Who created the programmer bubble?

Mobile Internet has been quite popular in the past two years, and mobile APP developers are in short supply.

I interviewed a person who made apps. His ability was average and his attitude was rather arrogant. I felt that I would definitely not hire this person, but in order to verify my own ideas, I still talked to him sincerely with the attitude of deciding to hire him.

"I just asked you some questions, which may be biased or not what you are good at. I am also asking some questions that we often use in the spirit of being responsible for the company. Please forgive me for this," I said.

He said: "It's okay, the question is indeed a bit biased. You will never need it in actual work. If you need it, just look it up. There are many examples on the Internet, you can just copy and paste it!"

I said, our company recruits someone, and you join a company, it is a matter of mutual choice. I have asked you, what do you want to know about our company?

He was a little dazed and paused for a while. I asked him about the company's business development, personal advancement space, and your career plan?

He said, Oh, what does our company do?

I replied that our main business is to build a community-based O2O platform. We currently have several business segments, including deep vertical door-to-door massage services, connecting upstream and downstream merchants to build a cloud commerce supply chain, and ultimately creating a huge community service ecosystem.

He didn't seem to understand and was still in a daze.

"Anything else you want to ask?" I asked.

He seemed to have wanted to ask for a long time but was too embarrassed to do so. However, he didn't want to waste time here, so he asked: "What benefits does the company provide? How much is the year-end bonus? How is overtime pay calculated..."

I answered them all one by one.

There was silence for a moment.

I asked, "How much *** treatment can you accept?"

He said it was what was written on the resume.

I stared at him intently: "If I reduce the price to 1,000, would you be willing?"

He shook his head.

"How about a five hundred?"

He replied, "I have already interviewed four or five companies, they all wanted me, and I agreed. Now I just need to interview a few more companies to see which one is higher. So, I don't need to..." He shrugged at me and stopped talking.

I said, the number you want is not high in our company, many people get more than this. How many people are there in the companies you have visited?

He said, there should be some, about right, probably more than a hundred people.

I asked, how many people are making the APP?

He replied, one or two, some don’t, and I got *** when I went there.

Who interviewed you, I asked.

Some are managers, some are bosses, and they all hope that I can join the company as soon as possible.

I said, OK, we will evaluate your interview and the work you have done, and then contact you.

He left.

This is not an isolated case.

Most young people are like this.

They have no house, no car, and no pressure, and use the level of their income simply as a means of showing off and comparing with relatives and friends.

What makes me ponder is why a person who can only be called an operator and repairman can charge a high price under the name of an engineer, and there are companies willing to pay. It is obviously a pathological state to enjoy things that are not matched by ability, and the result must be tragic. Who gave them such a good opportunity? Or who deliberately wanted to harm them?

The answer is this fast-paced era and helpless enterprises.

Mobile Internet, these five words are very popular. Internet+ has made this popularity even hotter. Many companies want to get on this boat, make a fortune, and even achieve hegemony if they are unlucky.

How to do it? Many people think that mobile Internet is just an APP. If you want to enter the mobile Internet, you must first develop an APP, so that it is easy to talk to people! This idea is like, I developed a POS machine and I have a bank, so I can do finance. The reason why your POS machine can transfer funds by swiping a card is because there is a bank system behind it. Who the money is given to and where the deducted money comes from are supported by a set of services. Compared with a POS machine, this set of services is like the relationship between an elephant and an ant. If you still don’t understand, go to the hardware store and buy a shower head. Try it in the sun to see if it sprays water. That shower head is the APP in the business.

Many small business owners understand the political and economic situation very well, but they don’t understand technology. They think that the first step is to get an APP, and the rest can be dealt with according to needs. So, their bosses even interviewed them personally, just chatted casually, and hired them for as much as they wanted, just to get someone to start first. Later, they found that it was not the case. Even if there was a shower head, they still needed a water pipe to spray water. The water supply system they built was too large, and there were too few people using it in the community. The water pipes connecting the bathroom had nothing to do with them. After working for a long time in the company for half a year, the people they recruited were not professional, and they just made one at random. The employees felt that the boss was messing around and there was no sense of accomplishment, and the boss also felt that he had made a mistake in choosing the right person and would not produce results. So, they broke up.

The person who left changed jobs again, but felt that he was not fully utilized. Now that he had more work experience, his salary must also increase. So he found another company. The boss saw that this person had been paid so well before, so the boss must not be stupid. He has been working for so long and has achieved results. He urgently needs people, so he should increase his salary. He worked in this company for half a year, and the same cycle as the previous company continued until he reached a peak.

This results in individuals’ skills not improving substantially but salaries being artificially high, and companies’ expenses increasing but returns not increasing.

This is a bubble, a bubble that is slowly expanding. This bubble is very obvious in small enterprises, but not in medium-sized and larger enterprises. First, because medium-sized enterprises have professional talents who can judge and plan the entire business system and are not blind. Second, it is precisely because of the standardization and professionalism that it attracts many people with lofty ideals who value a benign growth environment.

Bubbles are bubbles after all, and they will burst one day. This time will not be long, 3 to 5 years. As new technologies gradually become old (when Android and IOS become as old as C language), as a large number of talents pour in and some companies withdraw (100,000 developers face 1,000 jobs), and as many bosses slowly discover the principles and truth (APP is really just a terminal), let's set it up again. Will the fate of those who used to jump around frequently in small companies and those who thrive in mature departments change subversively?

The Internet industry is different from traditional industries. There is no second. The final situation is that giants monopolize and small and sophisticated enterprises fill the gap.

In fact, the journey of a company and a person is the same, and they will encounter all kinds of strange things, but the end result is the same, and everything must be done steadily and steadfastly. You walk step by step, you watch others build tall buildings, you watch others entertain guests, and you also watch others' buildings collapse.

You can also imagine that you have built a barrier that is as solid as a rock and will last forever, and it can be called a classic.
