Apple starts cleaning up zombie apps from the App Store!

Before the official version of iOS 10 was released - on September 2 to be exact, Apple officially announced to developers that they would conduct a "major cleanup" of the App Store, the main purpose of which was to clean up zombie games or software and shorten the official names of games or software. It is understood that some developers have received emails from Apple, and the App Store's zombie app cleanup campaign is quietly underway.

The so-called zombie applications refer to those applications that have not been updated for a long time in the App Store. In fact, the App Store's purge targets include old, outdated, and rarely updated apps. According to developers, the notification email sent by Apple contained the following sentence: We noticed that your app has not been updated for a long time. According to Apple's policy, developers have 30 days to prepare updates before the App Store officially removes zombie software.

If a developer submits an updated version for review 30 days ago and it is eventually approved by the App Store, his app will be removed from the list of zombie apps. Apple's developer page states the following:

App Store quality is very important to us. We know that many of you have been working hard to create innovative software and add more content and features to your software through continuous updates. However, there are also a number of software in the App Store that have deviated from their functional track, or no longer comply with the review guidelines, and have not been updated for a long time. Therefore, we need to re-evaluate these software, notify their developers, and finally remove the unqualified software.
