According to the latest news, at the Shanghai epidemic prevention and control press conference held today (17th), Zhao Dandan, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, introduced that at present, all 16 districts in Shanghai have fully achieved social zero.

2. When will Shanghai be unsealed?

It is expected that full lifting of the lockdown will be achieved in mid-to-late June.

At the Shanghai epidemic prevention and control press conference held on May 16, Shanghai Vice Mayor Zong Ming stated that with the implementation of various prevention and control measures and comprehensive expert analysis, Shanghai has clarified the next step of prevention and control work, which is divided into three phases.

Phase 1: Consolidating the results of the ten major actions to achieve zero-emissions. From now until May 21, the focus will be on reducing new cases and preventing a rebound, continuing to reduce the number of people in containment and control areas, orderly opening up prevention areas, limiting movement, and effectively controlling, and maintaining a low level of social activities throughout the city.

The second stage: the transition to normalized prevention and control. From May 22 to May 31, the number of newly infected people per day further decreased, the scope of the lockdown and control areas was continuously reduced until they were unsealed, and the transformation of epidemic prevention and control to normalized hierarchical and classified management was accelerated.

The third stage: the stage of fully restoring the normal production and living order in the city. From June 1 to mid-to-late June, under the premise of strictly preventing a rebound in the epidemic and ensuring that risks are controllable, we will fully implement normalized management of epidemic prevention and control, and fully restore normal production and living order across Shanghai.

In other words, Shanghai began to gradually lift the lockdown on June 1, and normal production and living order was fully restored by mid-to-late June.

In addition, the achievement of zero social infection does not mean that the lockdown has been completely lifted.
