Major adjustment: Apple will allow one-click rating and reply to user reviews
At the end of January, Apple announced a major news on its official website that it will improve the comment function in version 10.3, as follows 

 From this brief message, we can see that Apple provides an API, and developers decide when to call it. This API will pop up a window (as shown in the figure below), allowing users to rate the app directly, which greatly shortens the review path. Users no longer need to jump to the App Store and enter a password to rate. 

 In addition, developers can finally reply to user comments directly in the App Store. This is a feature that everyone has been calling for for years. The last time Cook came to China, a number of developers including Toutiao also raised this request to him in person. This is definitely good news for active developers, and Apple may also be able to use this to give developers activity and responsibility points. But there are limitations to using this feature. 
  1. Each user can only push 3 times per year.
  2. Users can turn off this message in the system

 It can be seen that Apple continues its traditional style of attaching importance to user experience. Sha Ming suggested that developers should pay attention to this news and enable this function as soon as possible, because it represents a major trend in ASO . As we all know, the App Store has been frequently adjusted since 2017. Up to now, many traditional payment operation methods are ineffective. Many people are wondering where ASO will go in 2017! If you only equate ASO with point walls and keyword-boosting, then your path will undoubtedly become narrower and narrower. However, if you return to the essence of ASO, then there may be light ahead. In any case, in 2017, ASO is facing major changes! As I pointed out in the previous article, the application of machine learning and AI technologies to the App Store is an inevitable trend. Although Apple has not made a public statement, its major rival Google has publicly announced that machine learning has played an extremely important role in its algorithms, mainly in three aspects: 
  • Determine the relevance of keywords and apps
  • Keyword search intelligent recommendation
  • Anti-cheat
 By using machine learning algorithms, Apple can achieve a dimensionality reduction attack. If the other end of the magic battle does not upgrade, it will be difficult to compete with Apple. Therefore, CPs should comply with the App Store’s own rules to gain greater competitive advantages. Comments are an important part of this. In fact, Apple has always encouraged everyone to push messages within the app and request user comments, but from the current situation, Apple is not satisfied with everyone's actions. On the one hand, a large number of applications use very simple and crude message push, which has poor effects. On the other hand, there are also a large number of developers who overuse comments or even skirt the rules, creating unfair competition. At the end of last year, news broke that Apple began to interfere with developers' customized message push notifications. This may be the specific action taken by Apple after it realized that adjustments were inevitable. In China, the situation of fake reviews is much more serious, and many developers' reviews have been deleted recently. In past articles, I mentioned why Apple makes it so difficult to leave reviews. One important reason is that Apple believes that only by making reviews more difficult can it filter out the noise of ordinary people and only hear the opinions of users who have stronger emotions about the App. But this also leads to the problem of too few reviews and too many fake reviews. I believe that this adjustment is a countermeasure to this situation. On the one hand, Apple improves its ability to identify false reviews, and on the other hand, simplifies the user rating process, introduces a large number of ordinary users to evaluate the App, and increases the effectiveness of the ratings. Considering all aspects, the weight of comments (especially ratings) in ASO may increase, so please be prepared.
