Kuaishou short video shooting skills

Kuaishou short video shooting skills

What we are sharing today are the three shooting techniques you must master when using Kuaishou.

1. Three things new couples must know when taking photos

1. The whole process of shooting and uploading

In fact, many people know how to post videos on short videos. But why does the effect differ for each person? Details when publishing works are also very important: you must write the publishing copy when publishing, add corresponding video tags to the video, and the video positioning must be turned on. Finally, some friends may worry about privacy leakage. In fact, the purpose of this positioning is to obtain traffic in the same city, so our positioning does not need to be very precise, as long as it is accurate to the city. We have sorted out the entire process of shooting and uploading videos on Kuaishou, including the many function buttons when shooting in the Kuaishou app, which can help us improve the watchability of the video. Friends can save it for reference.

Button 1: Use front camera/rear camera

Button 2: Variable speed, shoot videos at different speeds, commonly used in lip syncing works.

Button 3: Turn on or off the 3-second countdown shooting function, suitable for when you are alone and no one is there to help you shoot

Button 4: Set to automatically pause shooting after X seconds

Button 5: Set the video size: full screen, 9:16/3:4/1:1

Button 6: Turn the flash on or off

Button 7: Magic effects, such as cute, funny, etc.

Button 8: Beauty, makeup, body, filter

Button 9: Shoot with popular music

Button 10: Select photo/video editing in the phone

2. Notes on shooting: High definition, more vertical shots

(1) High Definition

There are three ways to ensure high-definition videos: keep the phone stable; phone shooting settings; clip export settings.

A Keep the phone stable

The image processing function of a mobile phone is not as good as that of a camera. So if you are shooting with a mobile phone, you must keep your hands steady.

Shooting posture: hold the phone in one hand, support the phone with the other hand, and hold it with your arms

Auxiliary equipment: tripod or stabilizer (not necessary)

If you decide to make short videos, you must buy a desktop stand and a floor-standing stand. Suitable for outdoor broadcasting, a stabilizer can be used for sports shots.

B Mobile phone shooting settings

Video resolution and frame rate determine the high definition of the video. Recommended: resolution 1080p; frame rate 60fps or 30fps. The highest resolution supported on Kuaishou is 1080p, 30fps, and the highest resolution is 30fps.

But why shoot at 60fps? When our eyes watch videos, we can't actually see the difference as long as it exceeds 25fps. However, if the video frame rate is relatively low, you will find that there will be obvious stuttering when the video is slowed down. If you want to edit the video later, the whole action will be particularly soothing after slowing down to 60fps. Some people recommend shooting in 4K, which is of course possible. But this requires the shooting device to have a relatively large storage space, and a relatively large CPU is also needed for editing.

C After editing, export the video and select HD

The shooting must be clear, and the editing must also be clear. When exporting after editing, the resolution can be changed to 1080P and the frame rate can be changed to 60 to avoid the video being compressed and reduced in clarity after editing.

(2) Why is it recommended to shoot vertically?

A horizontally shot work has a small exposure area on the homepage and weak exposure, which will affect the number of views.

B. The display area of the playback page for horizontally shot works is small, which is not conducive to displaying video content and affects the increase in fans.

Unless the video is very well-made and has a grand scene, it can still be presented in horizontal screen. High definition must be a basic necessity. What preparations do we need to make before shooting?

3 Three major preparations before shooting: light, venue, and equipment.

(1) Light

Don't use too strong light, such as facing the light source/sun directly, and don't face away from the light source/sun. Facing the light source directly will cause overexposure and the details on the face will not be clear. It is also not recommended to face the light with your back, as that would turn you into a silhouette. By the same token, you can't face away from the window as it is prone to backlighting. The correct lighting conditions should be: whether indoors or outdoors, when the light is moderate, the light source/sun can be in front of the person, at a 45° elevation angle. This way the face won’t be overexposed and the entire environment will be brightened. When the light is insufficient, you can use a fill light to shoot. The fill light is soft and the lighting direction can be directly in front or to the side.

(2) Venue

The choice of venue, lighting and shooting position are all important. The venue should not be in the center of the whole area, but can be in a corner. White walls can also reflect light sources.

After the venue is chosen, it must also be properly arranged. Arrange the scene according to the positioning and shooting content. The set doesn’t need to be too big, just make sure the scene looks good in the shot.

(3) Equipment

The equipment is relatively simple, and the mobile phone holder is the most versatile. With the bracket, one person can easily handle the shooting, and it can adapt to various shooting scenes, whether outdoor or indoor.

2. Quickly master popular shooting techniques

The same script content will produce different results when shot in different ways. This is the importance of shooting techniques. Mastering a good shooting technique can make the picture more expressive and appealing; it is also the core point to attract attention, likes and comments; at the same time, it can greatly increase the probability of obtaining official traffic boost. The three most useful shooting techniques in short videos: composition, scene and lens.

1. Composition

Composition is to rearrange the things we want to shoot to highlight the main theme. There are three commonly used composition methods: central composition, overhead composition and thirds composition.

Central composition : The biggest advantage is that it is simple and easy for us to get started. Just put what you want to shoot in the middle, highlight the key points, make the theme clear, and you can see it at first glance.

Upward shooting composition : Upward shooting means that the camera is lower than the shooting position. The effect it produces is that the subject appears particularly large and tall.

The thirds line header image mainly uses the entire picture to be divided into three parts. We can leave one-third of the space when placing the subject, so that the picture is the most balanced. So when we take pictures, we can set the grid lines of the mobile phone to be displayed, so that we can use the grid lines as reference lines when taking pictures. Take the following example. The same character speaks out, but the effects displayed are different. Especially the effect of the second overhead composition is very suitable for the real estate sales industry. It can not only show the grandeur of the villa in the lens, but also lengthen the leg lines of the characters in the lens, making the overall picture more eye-catching.

2. Scenery

Is the subject large or small in the frame? Is it a close-up or all of it? This is the difference in scene scale. The change of scene can help us better understand the scene where the creator is shooting and let us understand the quality of the video. We don't need to think too complicatedly about the scene scale. We only need five words to describe it: far, complete, middle, near, and special. In short videos, the most commonly used shots are close-ups, mid-shots and close-ups. So what do these five items mean specifically?

Tips for using scene scale:

(1) There is no fixed way to match shot sizes. Instead, shot sizes are combined based on the logic of the video content.

(2) Panoramic shots are generally not directly connected to mid shots, but for story-telling videos, as long as the logic and the story makes sense between the shots, it will be fine.

(3) Do not change the shot size for the same scene; if you do change the shot size, be sure to change the shooting angle.

3. Lens

In the daily shooting of short videos, shots can be divided into fixed shots and moving shots. Fixed lenses are more frequently used and are the choice of most Kuaishou short video creators, with a relatively low difficulty coefficient. The presentation effect of motion shots is quite cool and can show many scenes. It is the favorite method of technical people. So which lens is better? We recommend that those who are just starting to make Kuaishou short videos or who don’t have a stabilizer should start with fixed lenses to familiarize themselves with them. The images we often see are all shot with fixed lenses, which can fully meet our daily needs.

Incorporate the above shooting preparations into the script design, still using examples from the three dimensions of teaching knowledge, talking about products, and conveying opinions.

summary:

Let’s review the overall situation: preparation before shooting: light, scene, equipment; three major shooting techniques: composition, field of view, and fixed lens. We recommend linking script design and shooting preparation together to ensure that the content of a video work can be truly implemented.
