This is a very interesting question. There is no standard answer. A thousand people may have a thousand different opinions. Many people say that they have had a premonition and avoided an accident. In social life, women tend to say that they have premonitions more often. Many women believe that eye twitching is a manifestation of premonition, so they stick a small piece of red paper on the twitching eyelid to resolve it. So do premonitions really exist in this world? Let's find out through some scientific analysis. Premonition belongs to the category of subconscious activities Consciousness is a unique human thinking activity, including self-awareness, memory, logical thinking, etc. Both psychology and philosophy define human consciousness as the reflection of the objective world by the human brain. The human brain's cognition and reflection of the objective world is to receive information through the senses, convert it into bioelectricity, transmit it to the brain through nerves, and then be processed by the brain and fed back to various organs of the body to make corresponding responses. The main senses of human beings are eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin. We experience the world through vision, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Different people grow up in different living environments and receive different educations, so their perceptions of the world are also different. The reflection of consciousness on the world can be close to the truth or distorted. Psychologists call this kind of consciousness the conscious or explicit consciousness, and call those vague feelings that are not clear and have unknown sources the subconscious, preconscious, and unconscious. I think that the so-called intuition, sixth sense, subconscious, and premonition belong to the latter. Therefore, the so-called premonition has common characteristics with intuition, sixth sense, and subconsciousness, and is not simply and clearly transformed from the information received by the senses like consciousness. But the subconscious is still related to the conscious mind. Why do I say this? Because I believe in a saying that consciousness does not fall from the sky. Although it seems that the so-called unconscious phenomena are not directly received from the senses, all the sudden premonitions or intuitions generally come from various experiences and memories accumulated in the brain in the past, and are the result of the collision of these accumulated experiences with a specific time and environment. Since people often cannot explain where these subconscious reactions come from, they feel very mysterious. If a person has no social experience or perception at all, he will not have any premonition or intuition. This proves that the subconscious still belongs to the category of consciousness, but it is not as clear as consciousness. Scientific research suggests that the human brain can sense relatively large changes in the magnetic field, which may be one of the reasons for intuition. But I have doubts about this study for two reasons: First, even if you can feel the magnetic field change, what kind of premonition can it provide? Is it danger or good news? Second, according to my experience of doing a head MRI, the magnetic field strength of the MRI is between 1 and 3T (Tesla), which is 20,000 to 60,000 times the earth's magnetic field strength of 0.5Gs. Apart from the loud noise of clicking, it seems that there is no feeling. I think other friends who have experienced MRI feel the same way as I do. Among these so-called subconscious activities, intuition, sixth sense, premonition, etc. seem to be more similar, that is, they are all some sudden feelings that we get by chance when we are awake. But the subconscious is different from the previous feelings, because the subconscious rarely appears when we are awake, or the previous feelings contain subconscious elements; but when we sleep, when the conscious brain activity stops, the subconscious will come out to make trouble, which is dreaming. Subconscious Explanation The subconscious refers to the unnoticed part of human psychological activities. Freud, the founder of psychoanalytic psychology, believes that there are two types of subconsciousness: one is called preconsciousness, which will be transformed into consciousness once it attracts the attention of consciousness; the other is unconsciousness, which is repressed and difficult to enter consciousness. He said that the unconscious system is like a lobby, which is connected to a reception room, where consciousness is waiting. There is a security guard between the lobby and the reception room, who checks the psychological impulse to enter the room. Those who are allowed to enter are the preconscious, and after entering, they are accepted by the consciousness and become the conscious. The unconscious will be blocked by the security guard and cannot become the conscious. Dreaming is a psychological activity formed when the subconscious mind comes out when the conscious mind is dormant. At this time, the unconscious mind will also jump out, so some dreams look absurd. But no matter absurd or logical, dreams are a reflection of people's understanding of the world or psychological expectations, but some are close to reality, and some are exaggerated and distorted. Freud believed that dreams are the release of repressed desires and the release of deep subconsciousness, such as the pursuit of sex, the desire for money or ability, etc. However, dreams are likely to be masks, and the surface illusions cover up the truth, so sometimes it is not completely unreasonable to say that dreams are the opposite. Due to the incoherence and fragmentation of the subconscious, dreams basically appear in an incomplete and incomplete form. Psychiatrists and psychoanalysts can analyze a person's true mental state from some dreams, and thus treat some patients with psychological problems. However, those things like Zhou Gong's dream interpretation and street fortune-telling are nothing but random and far-fetched superstitious scourges, so don't be fooled. Now let’s talk about whether the premonition is accurate. I believe that whether it is premonition, intuition, sixth sense, or subconsciousness, although the mechanism of their occurrence is not very clear and needs further in-depth research, they are not groundless. Instead, they are phenomena produced in people's conscious consciousness accumulated over a long period of time, and therefore are not mysterious. So are these phenomena accurate? My answer is, no, at least there is no definite evidence to prove how accurate these intuitions and premonitions are. Let's look at the world. How many car accidents, fires, murders, etc. happen every day? How many people die every day? Why can't we use premonitions, intuitions, and sixth senses to avoid them? How many of the red pieces of paper women put on their eyelids can be verified? 30% or 50%? In other words, this kind of premonition is random. If it appears, it is said to be effective. If it does not appear, it is forgotten. Over time, people only remember the "premonition" that has appeared and say it is very effective. In fact, the probability is the same whether there is a premonition or not. Some people on the Internet love to talk about their premonition or intuition, which helped them avoid an accident. In fact, these people are basically wise after the event. They are afraid of the consequences and think back to some things they did before the accident, and then they take it as their fault. In fact, before something happens, there may be many people who say the same things and do the same things as the person involved, but since nothing happened to them, they don’t have that association; even if it is the person involved, if they think about it carefully, they have done the same thing many times in the past (or have a premonition), but since the premonition did not happen, they have forgotten it. So should we take premonitions seriously? I think if we do have a clear premonition, we should still take it seriously. Because premonitions are not groundless, they are the crystallization of our own experience, consciousness and memory accumulation, but we just can't find the root of it at the time. Moreover, when such a premonition occurs, it is very likely that we feel something abnormal, but we just don't know what's wrong. It is always good to be cautious. Precisely because this premonition is only an occasional outburst of comprehensive experience, it does not have a complete logical chain and can only be a warning, but not necessarily accurate. Why can animals sense disasters? Sometimes animals can indeed predict disasters and flee before they strike. This is not because they are so smart or can analyze and judge problems, but because of their animal instincts. This instinct is due to their different hearing, vision and smell. For example, a dog's sense of smell is 1,200 times stronger than that of a human, and its hearing is 16 times stronger than that of a human. Many animals can see infrared and ultraviolet rays that are invisible to the human eye, and hear infrasound and ultrasound waves that are inaudible to the human ear. Before a general disaster occurs, especially a geological disaster such as an earthquake or volcanic eruption, there will be crustal deformation, abnormal groundwater, underground chemical composition, ground stress, geoelectricity, ground sound, ground light, ground temperature, etc. When these anomalies are detected by animals, they will feel very uncomfortable and feel the danger is coming, so they flee. Because humans have a smart brain, these instincts have degenerated, so sometimes they are not as sensitive as animals. However, humans can use the equipment and instruments they invented to extend and amplify their dulled sensory abilities, so as to obtain information about these changes in advance and avoid disasters. For example, today's weather forecasts are becoming more and more accurate, greatly reducing the damage caused to humans by extreme weather such as typhoons, rainstorms and hail. Conclusion: Premonitions are unreliable, and disaster prevention still depends on safety awareness and scientific methods. Do you think I am right? Welcome to discuss, thank you for reading.
