What are the body's reactions when bitten by a venomous snake?

There are more than 3,340 species of snakes in the world, of which more than 660 are venomous, and more than 200 are deadly. At present, there are more than 210 species of snakes in China, of which more than 60 are venomous and more than 10 are extremely venomous. Among them, the Agkistrodon acutus is one of the most venomous snakes in China. It is also called the "five-step snake". Many people think that if they are bitten by it, they will die after taking five steps. In fact, this is an exaggeration to describe its extremely strong toxicity. In different regions, it is also known as the "seven-step snake" and "hundred-step snake". Generally, if a person is bitten by it, without medical treatment, he may die within half an hour to three hours.

Snake bites mostly occur from April to October, with provinces south of the Yangtze River being the most common. Snakes are cold-blooded animals and will only come out when the temperature reaches 18 degrees or above, so hot and humid weather or sunny weather after rain is usually when snakes come out of their holes, so you need to pay more attention.

If you are bitten by a venomous snake, you need to inject antivenom serum as soon as possible. The antivenom serum is cultivated from the body of a horse. Because horses are tall and have strong resistance, they can resist injections of small doses of snake venom. Therefore, snake venom is injected into the horse's body, and then antibody serum is purified from the horse's body. However, the antivenom serum can only treat snake venom, and cannot treat the damage and complications caused by snake venom to the body.
