From 17:00 on May 26 to 06:00 on May 27, there was continuous heavy rainfall in Qiubei County, Yunnan Province, which caused many dangerous situations in Qiubei County.

As of 14:00 on the 27th, the disaster caused 4 deaths and 4 missing persons. Among them, there are 2 emergency rescue workers, and intensive search and rescue efforts are currently underway.

According to preliminary statistics, 108,500 mu of crops in the county are expected to be affected, 59,400 mu of crops severely damaged, and 14,700 mu of crops completely lost; more than 130 roads (simple bridges) collapsed; communications and power facilities were severely damaged, and regional communications were interrupted in Wenliu Township and Pingzhai Township. A total of 572 villages and groups with 27,000 households and nearly 100,000 people were without power in the county; more than 150 houses were damaged, and more than 600 people were relocated; a total of more than 25,000 households and more than 120,000 people in 377 village groups, 47 village committees, 12 townships in Qiubei County were affected to varying degrees.

At 4:19 am on May 27, the Meteorological Bureau and Natural Resources Bureau of Qiubei County, Yunnan Province jointly issued a yellow warning for geological disaster meteorological risks: it is expected that there will still be rainfall in Qiubei County in the next 24 hours, and the geological disaster meteorological risk level in many places in Qiubei County is Level III (high risk).

According to the forecast of the meteorological department, from May 28 to 31, most areas south of Qinling-Huaihe River will experience a heavy rainfall process from north to south, with local rainfall reaching 150-200 mm. According to the relevant provisions of the "National Flood Control and Drought Relief Emergency Plan", the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters decided to initiate a flood control level IV emergency response at 17:00 on May 27.
