Heavy rain and severe convection warnings issued simultaneously

Heavy rain may occur in parts of Henan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu and other places

From June 29 to 30, moderate to heavy rain will occur in the Sichuan Basin, southern Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Jianghan, northern Jiangnan, eastern Southwest China and Northeast China, with torrential rain in some areas and local heavy rain in eastern Hubei. The above-mentioned areas will be accompanied by obvious short-term heavy precipitation, thunderstorms, gale or hail and other severe convective weather. The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a blue warning for heavy rain and a yellow warning for severe convective weather at 06:00 on June 29.

Heavy rains are common during the flood season, which can easily lead to geological disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and mud-rock flows. Friends who want to go out for fun should be alert to secondary disasters such as flash floods and geological disasters that may be caused by continuous rainfall or local heavy rainfall. Short-term heavy rainfall can easily cause urban waterlogging. Do not wade rashly when you encounter water on the road! Pay attention to the upcoming forecasts and warning information, and avoid going out during periods of active severe convective weather!

At the same time, at the second quarter regular press conference of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism held this morning (June 29), the Ministry of Culture and Tourism reminded tourists: As the summer vacation and flood season are approaching, it is important to enhance safety awareness and travel safely and healthily.

1. Pay attention to travel safety. Learn about weather and road traffic conditions, the opening of tourist attractions and ticket reservation measures in advance, and plan your travel routes and time reasonably. When traveling by motor vehicle, fasten your seat belt throughout the journey. Do not go to areas that have not been officially developed and opened and lack safety guarantees.

2. Pay attention to safety during the flood season. In mountainous areas, river valleys, and areas near water or cliffs, be on guard against safety risks such as landslides, falling rocks, mudslides, and flash floods. Pay attention to weather changes and the latest forecast and warning information during your trip. Be cautious when participating in water activities such as boating and rafting, and do not play in waters without safety guarantees.

3. Participate in high-risk tourism projects with caution. According to your age, health and other conditions, carefully choose high-risk tourism projects such as high altitude, high speed, water, diving, and adventure. Carry out activities under the guidance of professionals and do not do anything that may endanger yourself and others.

4. Pay attention to fire safety. When traveling, strictly abide by the fire safety management regulations, and do not smoke, barbecue or use open flames in places where flammable materials gather or where there are fire prevention warnings. When staying in a hotel, promptly understand the fire evacuation routes and do not smoke while lying on the sofa or bed.

5. Pay attention to your own health. Pay attention to personal hygiene, be the first person responsible for your own health, and wear a mask scientifically in accordance with the "Guidelines for the Public to Wear Masks to Prevent New Coronavirus Infection (April 2023 Edition)".
