Mobile phones are not only replacing wallets, but also driver's licenses

According to the plan, drivers only need to pick up their iPhones or other smart phones, and traffic safety law enforcement officers can directly scan their driver's licenses, saving time and costs.

The driver's license on the phone may use a unique animation effect to prevent users from using screenshots to disguise it as a driver's license. When the electronic driver's license is in use, other applications hide notifications to prevent interference. Currently, MorphoTrust is working with the Ministry of Transportation to develop the driver's license application. The company is also responsible for building and maintaining the "world's largest facial recognition system" with more than 200 million photos for the U.S. State Department, as well as building and maintaining the U.S. Department of Defense facial recognition system that shares data with the FBI.

Andrea Henry, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of Transportation Operations, said that security and privacy issues now need to be resolved before the project can move forward.
