BMW denies breaking up with Baidu, cooperation between the two parties continues

On November 17th local time, Germany's Automotive Weekly reported that BMW denied terminating its cooperation with Baidu, and the two parties are still cooperating on map services and autonomous driving.

German weekly Wirtschaftswoche reported earlier in the day that BMW and Baidu had terminated their cooperation due to "irreconcilable differences of opinion."

Ian Robertson, BMW's director of sales and marketing, denied the report and said that BMW and Baidu have been cooperating for 11 months and the planned cooperation period is three years. Foreign companies cannot operate independent map services in China, so the cooperation between BMW and Baidu is a win-win situation.
