Jochem Heizmann, president of Volkswagen China, said on the 17th that the annual sales of Volkswagen Group's new energy vehicles in China are expected to reach 400,000 by 2020. Previously, Volkswagen Group had signed a preliminary agreement with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile to establish a joint venture to produce electric vehicles. According to data, China produced 379,000 new energy vehicles in 2015, surpassing the United States to become the world's largest new energy vehicle market. According to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in the first three quarters of this year, domestic new energy vehicle sales reached 289,000, an increase of 93.0% over the same period last year. According to the energy-saving and new energy vehicle industry development plan issued by the State Council, by 2020, the production capacity of pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles will reach 2 million units, and the cumulative production and sales volume will exceed 5 million units. On the other hand, unlike the fuel vehicle market, domestic brands dominate the domestic new energy vehicle market.
