Foreign media: Apple's performance in 2016 was really not very good

According to foreign media reports, after a one or two day holiday, should Apple executives give thumbs up or complain about their performance in 2016?

Apple CEO Tim Cook

In 2016, Apple was still a hot topic in the media, but the Apple in the media was no longer as exciting as before. Some people might be excited about Apple's profits, but most people still hoped that Apple would launch exciting new products. It is in this aspect that Apple's performance is regrettable.

Apple started 2016 with the iPhone SE and a smaller iPad Pro, both of which were useful, if not exciting.

In March, Walt Massberg, a well-known Apple critic, defended Apple by saying, "The iPhone 7 will be a blockbuster." The iPhone 7 did indeed have high expectations, as Hillary's campaign had, but in the end it only added waterproofing. The iPhone 7 removed the traditional headphone jack, and Apple promised to launch wireless headphones AirPods, but they were delayed until recently.

In 2016, Apple cared more about its business than its customers. That was odd for a company that was founded on human instinct and famous for making its products easy to use. Suddenly, Apple was disappointing people and seemed to be seen as a company that cared about the smallest details.

Without the adapter, you can't connect peripherals to the new MacBook Pro, and if you lose an AirPod, which is easy to do, you'll have to spend another $69.

Another well-known Apple commentator, former Apple executive Jean-Louis Gassée, described the new MacBook Pro as "confusing."

Essentially, Apple is unwilling to communicate with the outside world about the difficulties that new products may cause to customers, and does not allow the outside world to see its products and solve the problems. Even when faced with the problem of the battery life indicator on the new MacBook Pro, Apple was very amateurish and removed it. Apple's advertisements claiming that the new MacBook Pro is a collection of excellent ideas have added to users' dissatisfaction with it.

All of this has led to a lot of criticism for Apple, which has been quite sophisticated in releasing and showcasing its products in the past. This year, Apple gave people the impression that its new product launch was very low-key because it knew that it couldn't come up with many new products that would really excite people.

We can blame Apple's lackluster performance on a slowdown in technology, or we can call this year a transition year for Apple. CNET editor Shara Tibken explains that the company will launch more exciting products in the coming year.

Many Apple fans are still using Apple's previous products, such as MacBook Air and iPhone 6. The truth behind their refusal to switch to Apple's latest products is that the new products do not have new features that make them feel compelled to upgrade.

Apple should be grateful that Microsoft released the most exciting hardware product of the year, the Surface Studio. Where would Apple be if Samsung's beautiful Galaxy Note7 had been a huge success and not exploded?
