Electric cars are becoming the new darling. Will fuel engines give in?

With the increasing application of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, pure electric and hydrogen-powered technologies, more and more people are beginning to believe that new energy vehicles are the future direction of the automotive industry. Therefore, some people believe that traditional engines will be eliminated.

However, traditional manufacturers did not give up research and development, but instead launched many new engines.

Lynk & Co, Mazda, GM and other companies have successively launched updated technologies for small-displacement engines, which have increased fuel efficiency by more than 20% compared with the past . Traditional engines still have great potential due to their advantages in fuel consumption.

At present, new energy vehicles are still heavily dependent on government subsidies, and simply relying on the performance of new energy vehicles is not enough to win market recognition. GM, Lynk & Co, and Mazda have already achieved the same fuel efficiency as mild hybrids with the high compression ratio of traditional power. Engines mainly based on 3 cylinders are quietly occupying the market. For environmental protection reasons, manufacturers will continue to develop small displacement engines. Today's small-displacement turbocharged engines can simultaneously meet the requirements of small displacement, high performance and high efficiency. In the future, the development of small-displacement turbocharged engines will be the main force of traditional manufacturers.
