It is not an exaggeration to say that NIO was born for environmental protection. Although NIO's electric cars have extremely high emissions in the eyes of normal people, NIO's environmental protection concept and the electric cars that were hastily launched are still highly respected by many low-knowledge people. Every time a NIO is started, the owner will receive a summary on his mobile phone:"You have contributed xxx grams of carbon reduction to blue skies." This is quite embarrassing. Let me explain to my friends at NIO: NIO ES8 consumes 30-40 kWh of electricity per 100 km, and even up to one kWh per kilometer. Friends, this horrible level of energy consumption cannot be called "carbon reduction". Just ask how many kWh of electricity a family of three uses in a month. Driving a NIO electric car is equivalent to spraying carbon dioxide (and other emissions) into the air. Five 3.0T diesel 4WD SUVs (Ranger) travel 100 kilometers at high speed, which adds up to 40 liters of diesel. A heavy-duty commercial vehicle transport truck carrying 10 NIO ES8s can travel 100 kilometers without using more than 40 liters of diesel. But now, a Weilai ES8 needs to consume 40 liters of diesel to travel 100 kilometers! In addition, two staff members are required to accompany the whole journey, and every 150 kilometers or so, they have to stop for an hour and a half to charge. Each of us was overwhelmed with doubts: What a Fit can easily do, NIO needs a modified diesel generator and two NIO employees to protect it day and night, spend several hours every day charging, consume more than 200 liters of diesel a day, and wear down jackets and cotton hats to barely achieve. I knew NIO was going to do something weird during this trip to Northeast China, but I didn't expect it to be so weird: what a car worth tens of thousands of yuan can easily do, a NIO worth hundreds of thousands of yuan needs to consume a huge amount of diesel, bring an extra service car to follow, and need to take two employees to accompany it to barely complete it.
