Recently, Zhiji Auto announced that its technical team is working with CATL to develop "silicon-doped lithium-supplemented battery cell" technology. In the future, this battery technology will enable the cruising range of new energy vehicles to exceed 1,000km.

In terms of details, the "silicon-doped lithium-supplemented battery cell" technology will not only greatly increase the cruising range of new energy vehicles, but also avoid the battery degradation problem that currently plagues new energy vehicles. According to Zhiji Auto, the "silicon-doped lithium-supplemented battery cell" technology can also ensure zero battery degradation for 200,000 kilometers.

It is understood that "IM Motors" is a high-end new energy vehicle brand jointly launched by SAIC and Alibaba in November 2020. Considering that IM Motors has not yet launched new energy vehicle products, many netizens hope that its first new energy vehicle product will be equipped with "silicon-doped lithium-supplemented battery cell" technology, but according to the official introduction of IM Motors, "due to cost issues", this technology is very likely not to be used in IM Motors' first mass-produced car.
