Tuhu Auto Care suspends the store involved for rectification due to suspected mismatch of goods and repair without defect

On January 3, Tuhu Auto Care issued a statement regarding service issues that occurred at its franchised workshops, saying that it would impose severe penalties on two stores and technicians involved, suspend operations for rectification, and at the same time make a nationwide announcement within the Tuhu system.

According to Jiemian News, after Tuhu Auto Care proposed closing and rectifying the stores involved, it did not rule out the possibility of further termination of contracts, and the final plan is still under discussion.

Previously, Tuhu Auto Care has attracted public attention for suspected issues such as mismatching of goods with those described and forced consumption.

According to a video recently released by the account "315 Review" under the "China Consumer" magazine, some consumers had their cars repaired at different Tuhu Auto Service stores, during which they requested replacement of "original factory parts". In two different cases, Tuhu Auto Service exposed obvious problems in the company's service procedures.

In the first case, a Tuhu car maintenance shop recommended replacing the water pump after inspection, but actually replaced the thermostat and mistakenly claimed that the two were the same part.

The second store promised to provide "original parts", but actually provided third-party accessories that were advertised as "original quality". These situations are obviously contrary to consumers' expectations, causing dissatisfaction and complaints from consumers.

In response to these problems, Tuhu Auto Care said in an official statement that the original parts and brand parts provided in the orders involved are all genuine, not "fakes", and the company can provide purchase certificates from formal channels.

At the same time, Tuhu Auto Care also admitted that it had engaged in misleading behavior in its communications with customers and provided incorrect repair plans during the repair process.

In addition, the company promised to strengthen the functions of electronic quotations to avoid such incidents from happening again and expressed sincere apologies to customers.

On the technical level, the model that appears in the video is the mid-term facelift B8.5 generation Audi A4L equipped with a 2.0T engine, which is also widely used in Volkswagen Group's models.

Regarding the replacement of the water pump and thermostat, Volkswagen and Audi 4S stores told Jiemian News that the water pump and thermostat assembly can be repaired separately, but this may result in higher labor costs and multiple repairs. It is generally recommended to replace the assembly together to avoid unequal service life and multiple repairs.

In addition, the so-called "original quality" accessories actually refer to Rumford ZF. As a subsidiary of the supplier giant ZF, Rumford provides official accessories for many well-known automobile brands, and its product quality is widely recognized by the industry.

Some key issues have been exposed in the current Tuhu Auto Care scandal. Tuhu Auto Care's lack of maintenance process and professionalism, as well as its opaque handling of the source of parts, highlight the challenges service providers face in ensuring service quality and transparency.

In particular, the product quality of Rumford, a well-known parts supplier, was questioned in this incident, which exposed the mistakes of Tuhu car service store distributors in publicity and information delivery.

For consumers, choosing a reliable repair service provider and having an in-depth understanding of the repair process and the technical details involved are the keys to safeguarding their own rights and interests.
