Write over 800MB/s! SATA Express

SATA Express is a new interface standard that introduces PCI-E bus technology on the basis of the original SATA, thereby greatly improving the transmission speed. The theoretical bandwidth under the PCI-E 2.0 standard can reach about 780MB/s, surpassing the existing SATA 6Gbps. However, so far, only ASUS has publicly tried this new interface. At CES 2014, it demonstrated the conceptual motherboard "Z87-Deluxe/SATA Express". Today, ASUS announced that through close cooperation with Intel, it has successfully deployed the "Separate Reference Clock with Independent Spread Spectrum Clock Architecture" (SRIS) for the first time in the world. This is the key to unleash the best performance of SATA Express. This architecture must be included in the BIOS to maximize the performance of SATA Express and ensure compatibility. In order to verify this breakthrough, ASUS developed a 2.5-inch SATA Express external expansion box "Hyper Express" and conducted in-depth testing with two mSATA interfaces. ASUS claims that in the future, using ASUS motherboards equipped with SATA Express interfaces can achieve continuous read and write speeds of up to 745MB/s and 809MB/s, which has already fully utilized or even exceeded the theoretical bandwidth. Many of ASUS's Z97 motherboards will provide SATA Express interfaces, especially the TUF series, but the specific models have yet to be announced.
