Embarrassingly, unlike PS4, if players privately dismantle Xbox One to replace a larger capacity hard drive, they will lose the warranty. In this regard, there was news earlier that Microsoft will add support for external hard drives to Xbox One, and now the time for the arrival of this new feature has been confirmed-June. Microsoft announced earlier today that the Xbox One system update released in June will bring players support for external hard drives, and two can be connected at the same time. However, in order to ensure the transmission efficiency of game data, Xbox One also made requirements for the specifications of external hard drives. First of all, the capacity must be greater than 256GB, and USB 3.0 standard devices must be used to transfer data. At the same time, after connecting to Xbox One, the external hard drive will first be formatted, and then players can migrate game data, application software and other content to it. At present, Sony has not provided similar functions for PS4. The main reason may be that PS4 itself allows players to replace larger capacity hard drives by themselves, and the replacement operation is quite simple. However, it is worth mentioning that starting from the 1.70 firmware released earlier, PS4 allows players to store screenshots and recorded game videos on external USB storage devices. From this point of view, if PS4 wants to further open up external storage support for game files in the future, it should be easy. In addition, Microsoft will also provide players with a real-name friend system in the Xbox One system update pushed next month.
