US user tests iPhone 6 panel: no trace left even after being scratched by a knife

Beijing time, July 8 morning news, YouTube user Marques Brownlee recently conducted a more complete durability test on the rumored iPhone 6 display. The iPhone 6 display is said to use a flexible sapphire panel.

In a video, Brownlee bends the panel and attempts to scratch it with a key and a knife.

The video begins with an introduction to sapphire crystal, noting that glass made from sapphire is extremely clear (which is why Apple uses sapphire glass on iPhone cameras and Touch ID fingerprint sensors).

In the second half of the video, Brownlee used a portable knife and a key to perform a scratch test on the display panel. The results showed that it was difficult for these hard objects to leave tiny scratches on the panel. He then performed a bending test on the panel, and the sapphire panel also performed well.

At the end of the video, Brownlee says it would be impossible to put any scratches on the sapphire panel without mechanical assistance.

Last month, the US technology blog 9to5Mac exposed a photo of the display screen of the iPhone 6. In addition, there are rumors that the battery life of the iPhone 6 will not be significantly increased due to the thinner design.
