China Charging Alliance: By 2023, the number of domestic public charging piles will increase by 929,000, a year-on-year increase of 42.7%

According to recent news from the China Charging Alliance official account, from January to December 2023, the number of public charging piles increased by 929,000, a year-on-year increase of 42.7%, with an average of about 2,566 new public charging piles per day.

As of December 2023, members of the alliance have reported a total of 2.726 million public charging piles, including 1.203 million DC charging piles and 1.522 million AC charging piles.

From the perspective of regional distribution, the national charging power is mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hebei, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shandong, Fujian, Shaanxi, Henan and other provinces.

Among them, electricity flows mainly to buses and passenger cars, while other types of vehicles such as sanitation logistics vehicles, taxis, etc. account for a relatively small proportion.

From the perspective of charging operators, the top five charging pile operators in the country in terms of the number of charging piles operated are: Teladian operates 523,000 units, Xingxing Charging operates 451,000 units, Yunkuai Charging operates 448,000 units, State Grid operates 196,000 units, and Xiaoju Charging operates 158,000 units.

Throughout 2023, charging infrastructure and new energy vehicles continued to grow rapidly, with an increase in charging infrastructure of 3.386 million units, new energy vehicle sales of 9.495 million units, and an increase in charging piles to vehicles at a ratio of 1:2.8.
