A new Accenture study finds that 74% of organizations are meeting or exceeding expectations for investments in generative AI and automation, and 63% plan to increase their efforts and further strengthen these capabilities by 2026. According to the report, the number of companies that have fully modernized their AI-led processes will nearly double, from 9% in 2023 to 16% in 2024. These organizations will achieve 2.5 times more revenue growth, 2.4 times more productivity gains, and 3.3 times more success in scaling generative AI use cases than their peers. The survey results also assess that these “ready to reinvent” companies are evolving faster and are amplifying the impact of generative AI across the enterprise. Supported by a digital core, these companies have developed generative AI use cases in IT (75%), marketing (64%), customer service (59%), finance (58%), R&D (34%), and other core functions. While the research shows that some companies have reached the highest levels of operational maturity, 64% are still struggling to transform the way they operate. The high reliance on people is often overlooked: 82% of companies in the early stages of operational maturity have not implemented a talent reshaping strategy, have no plans to address workforce needs, and have not acquired new talent or trained to prepare employees for generative AI-led workflows. The report highlights four key actions business leaders should take to improve their operational maturity: Implement centralized data governance and a domain-centric approach to data modernization. Adopt a talent-first reinvention strategy. Ensure business and technology teams innovate together. Adopt leading-edge processes to drive business outcomes.
