iPhone 8's revolutionary front camera exposed: supports 3D perception

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently revealed that the iPhone 8 will be equipped with a revolutionary front camera, which includes three modules to achieve full 3D perception. These three modules, including the front camera module on the existing iPhone (implying that the pixels will not change), the infrared transmitter module, and the infrared receiver module, can determine the position and depth of objects in the lens. Apple acquired PrimeSense in 2013, and this time it will use its algorithm to merge the depth information captured by the infrared transceiver module of the front camera with the traditional 2D picture. What's the use? It may realize the legendary facial and/or iris recognition, and even be used in AR and VR game applications. After taking a quick selfie, you can make your 3D facial image appear in the game scene. Interestingly, there was news that the iPhone 8 will abandon Touch ID fingerprint recognition and use new 3D facial recognition or iris recognition.
