Hong Zhixiong_Currently working as Senior Technical Manager of Touch Technology The title of Hong Zhixiong's speech at this forum is "The Big Reveal of the Development of Fishing Master 3". In the speech, he will introduce some technical problems encountered during the development of "Fishing Master 3" and related solutions, including difficulties and experience sharing. In order to let everyone know more about Hong Zhixiong's ideas on mobile games in advance, 51CTO has specially conducted this interview. The interview transcript is as follows: 51CTO: What do you think of the current development trend of the domestic mobile game industry? What problems exist? What are the key factors affecting the development of the entire industry? Hong Zhixiong: In 2013, the total revenue of mobile games in China was 12 billion. In the first half of 2014, it reached 15 billion. It is estimated that the annual revenue may exceed 30 billion. It is nearly a three-fold increase. From what I see around me, many people working in other fields are also looking for opportunities to rush in. I have a classmate who has worked in Huawei for nearly 10 years and recently entered this industry. So the development is very fast. The MMO game form has evolved from card games represented by MT to action card games represented by Dota Legend, and various RPG games have also emerged. Large companies have begun to mass-produce products and occupy a large part of the market, especially WeChat games, which have quickly exploded from 0 to a market size of more than 3 billion. The development is very rapid. It has shocked the entire industry. Therefore, the entire market is now very competitive. Large companies have money, people and resources, and small and medium-sized CPs are under great pressure to survive. They need to find a way of playing that suits their team in terms of game innovation or operation mode. Find a way to survive. 51CTO: What are the inevitable factors behind a successful mobile game? Hong Zhixiong: All happy families are similar, but all unhappy families are different. A successful product is nothing more than: innovative gameplay, successful operation strategy, accurate target positioning, and solid technical strength. These are almost indispensable. 51CTO: What is the current relationship between domestic channels and game developers? Hong Zhixiong: Channels are strong, developers are weak, this is the relationship between the two. It is really not easy to be a CP. The access to various SDKs and some special requirements of channels are very heavy. Upgrading each version is very troublesome. Of course, there are also god-level studios like PopCap, which have strong products and channels actively help you increase sales. This kind of happiness is almost a dream for Chinese CP manufacturers. Therefore, I hope that there will be more integration, standardization, and mature SDKs in the channel. Everyone's precious life should not be wasted on these things. 51CTO: What do you think will be the trend of the mobile game market in the next two years? Hong Zhixiong: Standalone games are becoming slightly networked, while online games are becoming more serious. This is a direction of future game development. In addition, H5 games may emerge in the next two years. After all, H5 games are operated purely through the Internet, which makes them much easier to operate. There is no need to frequently update various client versions, and the user entry cost is also much lower. 51CTO: What experiences or suggestions would you share with entrepreneurs working in the mobile gaming industry? Hong Zhixiong: With limited funds, we must find a style of play that suits our team and not blindly follow the crowd. Survival is always the most important thing. The above is 51CTO’s interview with Hong Zhixiong , the speaker of the forum <Mobile Game Development and Operation> at the WOT Software Technology Summit Shenzhen Station.
