In a report provided to The Guardian, Mozilla's chief technology officer Andreas Gal accused Android and iOS platforms of not being open and transparent in mobile technology and abusing their respective market dominance. He also said that the current situation of mobile platforms is not conducive to user privacy, and Firefox OS can change this.

Gal mentioned that both Android and iOS platforms cannot protect user data well, and users do not know where their data is used. In addition to complaining about the data protection issue, Gal also said that although Android is built on open source software, Google has integrated a large number of dedicated services. As for iOS, users have no choice at all when using iOS.
