If Apple Watch became like this, would you buy it?

The launch date of Apple Watch has been delayed again and again, from the beginning of 2015 to before Valentine's Day to March. Finally, Tim Cook gave a definite signal last week, saying that Apple Watch will be officially launched in April. While we are still discussing whether it looks good, whether to buy it, and whether to save money, application developers and designers have already been "painstakingly" developing various applications that are compatible with Apple Watch.

Not long ago, Eleks Labs demonstrated the Apple Watch application they developed for Tesla. Although due to the limitations of Apple's development kit, the watch version of the Tesla application (engineering version) requires an iPhone to use, it still allows us to see the various functional performances of the smartwatch version of the Tesla application.

In addition to Tesla's Apple Watch version, designers also showed how many commonly used apps work on Apple Watch. The design website Letter Society recently collected a number of app design drawings based on Watchkit. I wonder if cool enough apps can be the reason for users to decide to buy an Apple Watch.

Uber for Apple Watch

IBM designer, 22-year-old Ryan Brownhill designed the Apple Watch version of the taxi app Uber. His design emphasizes the seamless transition between Uber's mobile and watch versions. Ryan Brownhill believes that the Apple Watch version of Uber should be an extension of its mobile app, rather than "stuffing" the original app functions into the Apple Watch. Therefore, the Apple Watch version of Uber retains the fare and driver information. If it is combined with Apple Pay in the future, users will no longer need to take out their phones during the entire taxi-hailing process.

Foursquare's check-in app Swarm

The design of the Swarm app for Apple Watch comes from 24-year-old industrial designer Nathan Boyd. Nathan Boyd makes the check-in process easier on the watch version of Swarm. Without opening the mobile app, you can directly use Swarm on the watch to check your location, check in, and find friends based on your location.

Google Translate for Apple Watch

Fran Palmer initially thought that most apps would be useless if “ported” to the Apple Watch, and that they needed to be completely redeveloped for new uses. But later he found that using Google Translate to communicate with people in real time was much easier on the smartwatch than opening the phone app. All he had to do was speak to the watch.

In addition to the above three applications, Letter Society also showed the Apple Watch version of the payment application Mint and the GPS application Garmin. Compared with Android Wear, there are not many applications based on Apple Watchkit. I don’t know what the commonly used applications such as WeChat and Alipay will look like on Apple Watch. I am really looking forward to it.
