With an Apple SIM card, iPad can access mobile Internet in more than 90 countries

Apple has launched the "Apple SIM" product earlier, which allows one card to access multiple mobile operators, but Apple SIM has not been supported by operators in many countries. According to the latest news, with the help of partners, the Apple SIM card in the iPad will be able to access mobile networks in more than 90 countries and regions around the world.

According to Appleinsider, a US technology news website, on Tuesday, GigSky announced that it had signed a partnership with Apple to provide mobile network access in more than 90 countries and regions around the world to iPad users equipped with Apple SIM cards.

With this card, users do not need to buy a new card when switching mobile operators, but can select the new operator in the relevant settings. According to reports, only three operators in the United States, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, supported Apple SIM cards before, and only one operator in the UK supported it, namely EE Network Company.

The support of operators in 90 countries means that Apple SIM cards will be able to truly demonstrate their functions, making it easier for users to switch mobile networks and operators.

The list shows that Chinese operators do not yet support Apple SIM cards in Apple tablets.

It is said that the data rates of mobile operators in different countries that GigSky cooperates with are different. For example, in Brazil, it costs $10 to consume 20 megabytes of data in three days, and it costs $50 to use 250 megabytes of data in 30 days. However, in India, it costs $10 to consume 40 megabytes of data in three days, and it costs $50 to use 500 megabytes of data in 30 days.

Currently, tablets that integrate Apple SIM cards include iPad Air 2 and Mini 3. When users of these devices are traveling or on business, they can choose a carrier to access the data network at their location.

It is also reported that in the coming weeks, Apple will offer separate sales of Apple SIM cards in ten countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.

The industry generally believes that in traditional mobile communications and device Internet access, operators occupy a dominant position, and Apple's launch of Apple SIM cards that are compatible with multiple operators will occupy a more dominant position in the Apple ecosystem. Operators in various countries are just a "pipeline" for Apple devices to access the Internet. This is also the reason why some operators resist Apple SIM cards.
