Today, Apple released the third beta of watchOS 2 to developers. The second beta of the system was released two weeks ago, after the WWDC premiere at the end of last month. The new beta version is 13S5293f. watchOS 2 supports native applications, and the beta 3 version allows developers to directly access local sensors, Digital Crown and the device's processor to test applications. The release of watchOS 2 beta 2 was a bit botched, with Apple accidentally pushing it to all Apple Watch users instead of sending it to developers first. Apple then recalled the update and re-released it later that day. watchOS 2 features include a new Nightstand Mode, three new watch faces, and a new Time Travel mode. You can read our full review of watchOS 2 here. So far, user complaints about the beta have mainly included poor battery life, GPS issues, and haptic feedback bugs. Developers can download the beta 3 version of watchOS 2 through the Apple Watch companion app on iPhone. |
