iPod creator: I can save Google Glass

On July 26, despite the huge attention and publicity that Google Glass received when it was first released, this futuristic wearable device quickly became a laughing stock for technology products, and no one even wanted to buy it or thought it was necessary. After using Google Glass several times, some users found that although this wearable device has some incredible technology, it actually has no meaning at all.

So when Google announced in January that it would stop working on Google Glass because the product had "graduated" from the Google X lab, the industry was not shocked at all. However, what was surprising was that Google did not actually stop working on Google Glass, but moved the development work to its own independent department, led by iPod creator Tony Fadell.

Interestingly, Fadell himself seems to see the huge potential of Google Glass. In a recent interview with the BBC, Fadell said that all matters related to Google Glass were not assigned to him. As the head of a department, he will start to develop all the undeveloped functions of Google Glass. For this reason, Fadell is also actively requesting to engage in research and development work related to Google Glass.

"I remember when we were doing the iPod and the iPhone," Fadell explained. "I think this is just as important as those things, but it's going to take time to get right."

Although many people still have doubts about whether Google Glass will be successful in the future, Fadell's brilliant career cannot be ignored. In addition to playing an important guiding role in the development of products such as the iPod and iPhone, Fadell also helped co-found Nest Labs, an innovative home hardware manufacturing company that was acquired by Google for $3.2 billion in January 2014.
