Flash is dying, Google acquires HTML5 development platform Divshot

H5 is gaining popularity, which always reminds people of the declining Flash. In recent years, Flash has been criticized and criticized by the outside world. Starting from September 1, Chrome browser completely banned Flash ads, which undoubtedly dealt a heavy blow to Flash.

Now according to foreign media reports, Google will acquire the mobile application development platform Divshot. Divshot is an HTML 5 development platform with a powerful theme converter and component library, which will be integrated into its cloud service subsidiary Firebase in the future.

Divshot executives have confirmed the above news through Firebase. They also confirmed that the Divshot service will be officially shut down on December 14, 2015.

"Going forward, the team will be fully focused on helping Firebase Hosting provide a better experience for developers," said Michael Bleigh, an engineer at Divshot.

Divshot will soon provide guidance for current users on how to migrate to Firebase. In addition, the company also released a Firebase command line interface today, which will allow developers to use Divshot's open source Superstatic library locally.

According to earlier news, Divshot has received venture capital totaling approximately US$1.8 million from multiple investors.
