Don't let your iPhone trust your computer at will. This is a dangerous operation.

Although few people connect their phones to computers now, we still have to remind you that connecting iPhone to computer via iTunes is actually a very dangerous thing. Hackers can easily control your phone through a simple authorization.

Recently, Symantec released a report, in which they said that when we connect the phone to the computer's iTunes, the iPhone will ask "Do you trust this computer?" Usually everyone will click "Yes", which seems not a big deal. But in fact, it can allow hackers to eavesdrop on your iPhone and even run malware on your iPhone in the form of a Trojan.

All this is because you clicked "Yes". After the computer is trusted, it has access to all the data and settings on your iPhone, and then the hacker can control your iPhone through the computer. Maybe you will say, why not just disconnect the iPhone from the computer? That's too naive. Even if you have unplugged the iPhone from the data cable, the hacker can still keep your iPhone connected to the computer through WiFi, and then continue to control your iPhone through the computer.

Because generally speaking, the user's mobile phone and computer are on the same WiFi, hackers take advantage of this and can continue to access the iPhone through iTunes. In simple terms, hackers will first control your computer, which is not difficult for them, and if you choose to trust this computer, it is equivalent to trusting the hacker on the other end of the network cable.

Symantec researcher Roy Iarchy said that the best way for iPhone users to prevent this is to select "Don't Trust" when connecting to each computer. Now that the company has submitted this issue to Apple, Apple may add a step in the process of connecting computers and phones in the future - such as entering a password - to ensure that the connection between iPhone and computer is trusted.

If you want to know which computers your iPhone has trusted, you can check in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy.
