Apple's repair plan has been updated again, and this time it offers two at once.

On November 10, Apple announced on its official website that it has confirmed that a component on some iPhone X display modules may malfunction and cause touch failure.

A problematic machine will exhibit the following symptoms:

  • The display or a portion of the display does not respond or responds intermittently to touch
  • The display responds even when no touch is performed

If your iPhone X has any of the above unusual behaviors, you can take your phone to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or make an appointment to go to an Apple Store retail store for testing.

Once the above problems are detected, Apple will provide free display module replacement services to affected users.

It is worth noting that, like most repair plans, if your iPhone X has any damage that affects repair (such as a cracked screen), it needs to be repaired first before you can continue with the replacement plan. Moreover, this plan is only limited to the country or region where the machine was originally purchased.

In addition, Apple also mentioned in the plan that if your machine has been repaired for this problem in the past and you have to pay for it, you can contact Apple for a refund.

Coincidentally, in addition to the iPhone X being confirmed to have problems these days, the MacBook Pro was also affected. The specific model is the 13-inch MacBook Pro without a Touch Bar.

Apple has confirmed that some 128GB and 256GB solid-state drives in the 13-inch MacBook Pro (without Touch Bar) have an issue that may ultimately lead to data loss and drive failure.

The hardware issue affects machines sold between June 2017 and June 2018, and Apple says the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and earlier will not be affected.

In addition, Apple has sent emails to users who are in the affected range and have registered their devices to inform them of this repair plan. If you have not registered or are not sure whether your model is in the affected range, you can click this link to check by serial number.

Once the user confirms that the model they are using is affected, they can go to an Apple authorized service provider or make an appointment to go to an Apple Store retail store for free maintenance. The entire maintenance process will take about an hour.

It should be noted that data will be erased during the maintenance process, so users must back up before sending the machine for repair.

Likewise, if your MacBook Pro has any problems that would prevent the hard drive from being repaired before you send it in, you'll need to get that repaired first. If your machine has been repaired for this problem before, you can contact Apple about a refund.
