WeChat launches "Transportation Card", which can integrate 136 cities' ride codes and is already in grayscale testing

Recently, the "Transportation Card" service has been launched in the card wallets of some WeChat users. Users can choose to integrate local ride-hailing code mini-programs into the transportation card.

Nandu reporters found through actual testing that after clicking on the transportation card, WeChat will display the local QR code applet based on the current location. For example, if the Nandu reporter is located in Guangzhou, the transportation card will automatically integrate the Yangchengtong QR code (available for Guangzhou public transportation) and the Guangzhou Metro QR code (available for Guangzhou Metro). At the same time, the QR codes of other cities used by the user, such as the Shenzhen Metro QR code and the Shenzhentong QR code, will be displayed below.

In addition, users can add ride codes of other cities currently supported by WeChat. Nandu reporters found that there are 136 city ride codes that can be added to transportation cards, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Wuhan, Xiamen, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, etc.

However, at present, this function is still in grayscale testing and is not open to all users. Only some users can use it.

So far, WeChat Card Wallet has included three services: card vouchers, tickets, and transportation cards. Among them, "card vouchers" can store all kinds of electronic cards and tickets from merchants, such as coupons, membership cards, air tickets, train tickets, movie tickets, etc. Tickets can store invoices issued by users, and transportation cards can store ride codes.
