They are: Yushu County, Zaduo County, Chengduo County, Zhiduo County, Nangqian County, and Qumalai County in the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai.

Cordyceps sinensis grows and reproduces in the bodies of moth insects. It is generally located at an altitude of 3500-5400m and grows in alpine meadows. It takes 2 to 5 years to complete a generation cycle. The moth larvae are omnivorous, resistant to waterlogging, cold and hunger. They eat Polygonum multiflorum, Polygonum villosa, Tibetan moss, etc., and grow in soil rich in organic matter. The main identification points of Cordyceps sinensis are: (1) The body of the insect is similar to that of a silkworm, with a dark yellow surface and ring patterns; (2) The head is reddish brown, and the feet are nail-shaped and pointed; (3) The length of the fruiting body is about 2.5 cm.
