On the afternoon of November 21, the World 5G Conference officially opened today. At the 5G and Digital Economy New Momentum Summit Forum, Tencent Vice President Ma Bin delivered a speech, introducing Tencent’s development direction in the industrial Internet: mobile entertainment services, smart travel, smart manufacturing, smart medical care, smart finance, smart retail, smart government affairs, smart culture and tourism, etc.

In terms of smart travel, Ma Bin revealed that the in-car WeChat will be officially released soon, which can realize voice broadcast without relying on manual operation.

As early as October 2018, Ma Huateng publicly stated that Tencent was developing in-car WeChat.

In August 2019, Ma Huateng announced at the 2019 China International Intelligent Industry Expo that Tencent will join hands with Changan Automobile to launch an in-car version of WeChat, and it will be first installed on Changan Automobile's mass-produced models in 2019.

According to previously disclosed information, unlike WeChat on mobile phones, the WeChat car version is awakened by a dedicated button on the steering wheel and is controlled by voice throughout the process, without distracting attention. The WeChat car version has functions such as message broadcast and reply, viewing unread messages, sending messages, and voice calls, but it does not have functions such as Moments, pictures, red envelopes, transfers, emoticons, and mini-programs.
