WeChat and QQ have recently started to work together. Yesterday, WeChat launched a mini program called “WeChat Transfer to QQ”. From this simple and straightforward name, you can probably guess what this mini program is used for. That’s right, we can use this mini program to transfer money to our QQ account using WeChat Pay. If you want to transfer money, you not only need to enter the QQ number, but also the name of the recipient QQ number that has been verified. This can avoid the embarrassment of entering the wrong account number and transferring a wrong large sum of money. After the transfer is successful, the QQ number receiving the payment will receive a reminder and the money will be automatically transferred to the balance of the QQ wallet. In fact, the "WeChat to QQ" function was launched at the beginning of this year. However, at that time, you had to first follow the "QQ Wallet Follow Official Account" and then find this function in the menu to transfer money, which was very troublesome. Now you can transfer money just through the mini program, which is much more convenient. TIM welcomes major updatesSince we're talking about QQ, let me talk about it a little bit. Now QQ has become the big brother. Relying on years of accumulated experience, both the App and PC client are very functional. However, for an "old person" like Xiao Lei who does not expand his or her circle of friends, does not use QQ Space, and only uses QQ as a tool for chatting and sending and receiving files, the QQ client seems a bit "bloated". So, Xiao Lei mostly uses the "light chat version of QQ" - TIM. However, TIM, a child who is neither loved by his father nor his mother, has not been updated very frequently, unlike QQ and WeChat, which are his beloved sons and are updated frequently. What’s even more amazing is that TIM hadn’t been updated for more than half a year last year. Xiao Lei even thought that Tencent was going to give up on this unfortunate kid. I didn't expect to get an update at the end of last year, and I've been slowly catching up with the pace with an update per month. Recently, TIM has made another effort, updating the three platforms of iOS, Android and PC to version 3.0 at the same time. Without further ado, Xiaolei will show you what new features are available. Support WeChat loginThe biggest update this time is definitely support for WeChat login. Xiao Lei initially thought that "WeChat login" was to link the WeChat account, synchronize WeChat friends, and even receive WeChat messages. But after clicking, I found that TIM actually created a new account for me... There are no friends, no groups, just a blank space. It turns out that this "WeChat login" only helps you create a new QQ account using WeChat, and automatically binds this new account to WeChat, so that you can log in to this new account using WeChat in the future. Emmm…I was so happy for nothing. The voice progress bar makes WeChat jealousAmong so many new features, Xiao Lei thinks this one is the most practical. Xiao Lei is particularly afraid of long voice messages. Listening to a 60-second voice message feels like a century has passed. What’s even worse is that once you don’t hear clearly, you have to listen again, or even two or three times before you know what the other person is saying. The new voice progress bar added by TIM can eliminate this trouble. When someone sends you a long voice message, just click the play button on the left side of the voice message to start playing. At the same time, the voice progress bar will be displayed in real time just like playing songs. If there is a part you didn't hear clearly, move the progress bar to the position you want to listen to again, so you don't have to go through the trouble of listening to it again from the beginning. Although this feature is good, most of the time we use voice not on TIM, but on WeChat next door. QQ had a voice progress bar before, and many people called for WeChat to have this feature. Now even my little brother TIM has followed suit and has a voice progress bar, but there is still no movement in WeChat. Now that the dark mode is done, can WeChat consider adding this feature as well? New interface, more conciseThe two functions mentioned by Xiao Lei above may not be very noticeable, but the changes in the entire UI interface can be very noticeable. In the past, TIM's UI interface was "white background + blue blocks", with a cool and technological style. Now that TIM has been updated to 3.0, the blue block at the top that looked a bit dazzling has been removed, and the entire App interface has become as pure as Xiao Lei(?). Compared with previous versions, Xiao Lei thinks the interface of 3.0 is more beautiful and more in line with TIM's main feature of simplicity. Long screenshots are not afraid of privacy leakageQQ has a long message screenshot function, which is very powerful. In addition to taking long screenshots of chat messages, this function also allows you to select the screenshot range, single or multiple chats. What's even more amazing is that there is a "Hide Nickname" function at the bottom of the screenshot page. After selecting it, QQ will automatically mosaic the avatar and nickname in the message interface. This saves us the multiple steps of taking screenshots, cropping, splicing, and then mosaicing, and it can be done in one step. In this update, TIM finally ported this feature from its big brother QQ. With the same operation, just long press on any message to call out the same long screenshot function. The group video feature is finally hereTIM, which focuses on office functions, has never had a group video function. How can this be justified? In addition, due to the impact of the epidemic, the demand for online office work has gradually increased, so the call for adding a group video function to TIM has become increasingly louder. This major version update finally added this feature. Click "Video Call" in the group menu to start a video call in the group. If you don’t want to call the entire group, you can also click “Call some members” and select some group members for video. Xiao Lei mentioned that although the screenshots above are from the iOS side, the updated functions of the Android and iOS sides are the same. What is available on the iOS side is also available on the Android client, so this time everyone is treated equally and no one needs to envy anyone else. After talking about the new features of the mobile terminal, Xiao Lei will now talk about the PC terminal. PC client is also not left behindThe PC client has also been updated to version 3.0 this time, but the updated features are not as many as the mobile version. One is that it also supports WeChat login. On the PC login page of TIM, there is an additional WeChat login option. After scanning with WeChat, I found that the situation was the same as on the mobile terminal, and the new account I logged in with was the one I had just used. The interface after logging in is the same as the mobile version, with basically white elements, which is simpler than the previous version. The PC version has fewer updated features and is not as exciting as the Android and iOS versions. Well, the above are the new changes for TIM’s mobile (Android, iOS) and PC versions, as well as a new change for WeChat. Xiao Lei believes that as a simple office chat software, TIM is still qualified. If you want more functions, such as group classrooms for online classes, mini-programs for clocking in, login functions for other applications... you still have to turn to QQ. So, friends who don’t have much demand for other functions can consider TIM after this major update. |
