WeChat seems to prefer iOS. The latest version is always updated to iOS first. Yesterday, WeChat iOS version was upgraded to 8.0 first, making Android friends envious.

WeChat 8.0 is the first major version update launched by WeChat in 2 years. The last one was WeChat 7.0 launched in December 2018. Although it is a major version update, WeChat 8.0 does not have any drastic changes, but mainly greatly increases the fun.

The main updates of WeChat 8.0 are new floating windows, dynamic emoticons, and support for setting custom status and other functions.

Major changes include:

1. The startup page has changed.

2. The built-in expressions have become bigger.

3. Added full-screen animations for special expressions in the built-in expression pack, such as "bomb" will have an explosion effect, and "celebration" will fill the screen with fireworks.

4. The effect of the built-in emoticons sent out has been adjusted. By default, they will be larger than before and will shrink back to normal size after 1 second.

5. Added "My Status" similar to QQ, where users can choose their mood status, including "depressed, dazed, counting sheep, etc."
