Google's Fuchsia OS has been launched on the first generation Nest Hub

In May of this year, Google officially confirmed that Fuchsia OS will be launched on the first generation Nest Hub smart display released in 2018. The updated Nest Hub will not have any functional changes, but the underlying system will be changed from the Linux-based Cast OS to the independent Fuchsia OS.

According to 9To5Google, late last week, Google updated a support page saying that the first-generation Nest Hub was receiving a firmware version 1.52.260996 update. Google later confirmed to 9To5Google that the update does include an upgrade to Fuchsia OS.

Foreign media said that if everything goes well, all first-generation Nest Hub devices around the world will run the Fuchsia OS system in the next few days.

According to foreign media testing, the updated first-generation Nest Hub has no changes in function and UI, but the underlying system has indeed been replaced.

According to the viewing method given by Google, if the user can find "Operating System Version" in Settings -> About Device, it means that the device is already running Fuchsia OS.
