When we mention Android and iOS, many people's initial impression is that Android is slower. Even today's flagship Android devices are equipped with larger and larger memories, but are still eaten up by apps. This is not just talk. Some tech bloggers have done tests and found that for the same app, the memory occupied by Android may be three times higher than that of iOS. GaryExplain, a technology blogger on Youtube, recently did such a test. He compared the memory usage of different APP software applications and game software under iOS and Android application software. Let's first look at the comparison of commonly used APP software. Among APP software applications, Android application software applications occupy significantly more running memory than the iOS system. Twitter occupies 100MB on the iOS system, but 366MB on the Android system. The eBay application occupies only 69MB on the iOS system, but 300MB on the Android system. Most apps produced by major manufacturers have penetrated into every corner around us, and there is a very important criterion for their assessment, that is, daily active users, which simply means the number of people online every day. To meet this standard, each APP will continue to add new features to attract users to use it every day, so the memory usage is also constantly increasing. If it cannot attract users, then each APP will have various tricks to force it to run in the background. However, there are some apps that do not have such a big difference in memory usage. The two app stores occupy around 217MB and 235MB of memory respectively, but this is extremely rare. For most apps, the difference is 2-3 times or even higher. It's a different situation in game software. The memory usage of the 8 games on iOS and Android systems is much smaller. Some games in Android application software occupy a higher memory, but there is no several-fold difference like APP software applications. In general, the memory usage of APP software applications and games on iOS and Android systems is different. Since games are native codes, there is not much difference between different systems. However, the memory usage of APP software applications is very different due to the different compilation methods of the two systems. The memory usage of Android applications is several times that of the iOS system, and the demand for running memory is higher. If the memory capacity is low, problems such as lag are inevitable. There is no harm without comparison for this lag. You won’t feel it if you use it all the time. The iOS system is more like a cloud system. After the app enters the background, information push will be replaced by Apple’s cloud server, and most background applications are in dormant state. Android phones actually have the same strategy, but native Android services cannot be used in China, and apps have to run in the background. This requires Android to have more RAM. In fact, today's Android phone processors can be used for two or three years without any problems, and can perform like Apple. Unfortunately, the RAM cannot satisfy a bunch of apps that are forced to start and add to the available RAM, which makes the already limited RAM even worse. This is actually caused by third-party apps. what you think? |
