Emergency response levels lowered in 6 provinces

From February 21 to 24, Gansu, Liaoning, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces successively adjusted the emergency response level for public health emergencies from level 1 to level 3, and Shanxi and Guangdong adjusted it from level 1 to level 2.

As of 24:00 on February 23, according to reports from 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, there are 49,824 confirmed cases (including 9,915 severe cases), 24,734 cases have been cured and discharged, 2,592 deaths, 77,150 confirmed cases have been reported (Hubei Province revised 195 duplicate reported cases), and there are 3,434 suspected cases. A total of 635,531 close contacts have been traced, and 97,481 close contacts are still under medical observation.

Hubei has added 398 new confirmed cases (348 in Wuhan), 1,439 new cases of cured and discharged patients (772 in Wuhan), 149 new deaths (131 in Wuhan), and currently has 45,054 confirmed cases (35,674 in Wuhan), including 9,430 severe cases (8,329 in Wuhan). A total of 16,738 cases have been cured and discharged (8,946 in Wuhan), a total of 2,495 deaths have been reported (1,987 in Wuhan), and a total of 64,287 cases have been confirmed (46,607 in Wuhan, including 195 revised duplicate reported cases). There are 450 new suspected cases (318 in Wuhan) and 2,770 suspected cases (1,877 in Wuhan).

A total of 112 confirmed cases have been reported from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan: 74 cases in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (12 cases discharged, 2 cases died), 10 cases in the Macao Special Administrative Region (6 cases discharged), and 28 cases in Taiwan (5 cases discharged, 1 case died).
