In paid advertising, what exactly are CPC, CPM, CPA, CPL, CPS, and CPR?

Many newcomers to the industry always fail to distinguish the mainstream paid advertising billing models in the current market. Today, Aiqijun will use an easy-to-understand example to analyze and sort it out for everyone!

You are on a business trip and staying in a hotel. 1. In the evening, you stay in a hotel and want to see what services can be provided, so you want to collect some small cards: it is called targeted advertising (platform, time, crowd);

2. You see the card from a distance: it’s called CPM (exposure);

3. You are interested and walk over to pick up the card: this is called CPC (click);

Here comes the point

4. You look at the card again and again, and finally you can’t resist the temptation and call the number on the card: it’s called CPA (behavior);

5. You were still nervous before the call was connected, but when the other party said, "Hello, sir, how can I help you?" you completely gave up your bottom line and called for service: this is called CPS (close transaction);

6. You are enjoying the service and suddenly remember your good friend Wang who lives next door. As the saying goes, don’t forget your good friend when you are rich, so you must recommend such a good thing to him: this is called CPL (potential lead);

7. In order to record this wonderful moment, you recorded the whole process with a camera, and the file is kept for future reference, which is called CPD (download);

8. After the service, you were in a good mood and filled out the questionnaire to rate the service as high as you could (CPR).

Let’s sort it out:

CPC: click, charge by click;

CPM: mille, charged by impression;

CPA: action, billing based on behavior (behavior includes form submission/phone call, etc.);

CPS: sale, charged according to the transaction (purchase, payment);

CPL: lead, which is charged according to the number of potential customers who are guided to the service provider's designated web page by the advertisement clicks;

CPD: download, charged by download;

CPR: response, charged according to the number of responses from users;

Okay, if you still haven’t figured it out by now, then take advantage of the weekend and stay in a hotel!
