Obtaining traffic will always be an eternal and common demand in the commercial market.

No matter what industry it is, whether it is the traditional market or the online market, if there is no traffic coming in, it means there are no customers, and without customers, business cannot be established.

However, as Internet thinking became more and more widespread, traffic acquisition began to become more and more "expensive" and gradually began to become a red ocean. Generally speaking, if you want to create a product from scratch to gain traffic now, it is not as easy as it was in the early days!

Although the threshold for obtaining traffic has increased, it does not mean that this path is difficult to open up.

"You will never make money beyond your knowledge." This sentence can actually also be applied to the issue of acquiring traffic.

Although it has become a red ocean, the traffic in the market has not decreased. Rather, we are changing with the industry and our users are also changing. Users have long been numb to some old-fashioned methods and naturally will not fall for them.

Personally, I think that when it comes to acquiring traffic, methods and thinking determine most of the factors in how you do this. If you find the right method, the process will naturally become simple and effective.

This time I want to share with you some thoughts and logic about traffic generation.

1. Content Thinking

No matter what stage you are in, the output of high-quality content will never be out of date, and the traffic coming through the content is also very accurate and high-quality customers.

Of course, using relevant platforms to publish content is also a critical step. For example, some vertical industries can deliver high-quality content to some of the industry's top websites. These websites usually have a certain amount of traffic every day, and they will naturally contact you when they find your content helpful.

2. Paid Thinking

Most of the above mentioned methods can actually be obtained through free methods, which will take a certain period of time. Of course, the cost of time is also a cost. If you have the budget, going directly for paid advertising will produce results faster and more easily than doing it for free.

For example, we spend a month to acquire 1,000 users through free means, but if we directly use paid means, it only takes one or two days, and we can use the rest of the time to convert the incoming traffic or to acquire more traffic. As long as the output and conversion of paid investment are proportional, I think this can be done sustainably.

3. SEO Thinking

SEO is actually about directing traffic on the Baidu search platform. Generally, when most people encounter some problems or needs, they will first go to Baidu to search. Whether it is popularizing knowledge or searching channels, we can upload these things to websites that can be included in Baidu and have higher weights in advance according to our target audience. At this time, when users search, there is a certain probability that they will be displayed on the search results page.

Of course, SEM too. Simply put, when we search for keywords, related content will appear, and here there is an opportunity to display, thereby leading to customer acquisition.

4. Fission Thinking

Fission is achieved by planning activities, designing baits, and using existing traffic to snowball and acquire more users.

I guess everyone has played this game, and the gameplay and logic are clear, so I won’t elaborate on it.

I think what we need to pay attention to is the choice of bait and the rules of fission. For example, if the threshold design is set too high, it will directly affect the user's motivation to participate.

5. Diversion Thinking

Combined with what we just said above, to put it simply, it means to divert traffic to platforms with relatively large traffic, such as Zhihu, Toutiao, short video platforms, etc. However, the rules of each platform are slightly different, and if triggered, the account will most likely be blocked.

Therefore, in the early stage, you can determine the platform for diversion, then understand the platform rules, and release your own information in some appropriate places to acquire customers.

The method may be to obtain information, view more relevant content and other related words.

6. Reverse thinking

People often say that sometimes you should think about it the other way around, maybe the effect will be better.

In fact, the ones we mentioned before are all positive thinking and some common sense methods, but these will only be effective if we do a good job of preparation in the early stages.

I believe everyone may be familiar with advertisements. Just like what we just said are actually advertisements, they will leave their own information. As for obtaining traffic, aren’t these WeChat contact information traffic? And the pass rate for these will definitely be high.

In fact, this is also a kind of reverse thinking. Whether it is a short video platform or a content platform, some authors will place their contact information, and we can add these people directly. It just means that one is passive drainage and the other is active drainage.

As for the added traffic, the quality of these fans may be higher, because they are all senior people and IPs in each industry. After all, not everyone can output content or think of doing traffic diversion, and they can also enrich and expand their own circle of friends channels.

Although the rules of the platform are constantly changing, if our direction and thinking are correct and working, we can continue to use it.

True traffic masters have established a traffic system thinking framework in their minds early on. This framework is the underlying force for efficient traffic. We need to learn and practice some traffic platform drainage skills, but we must master the underlying drainage thinking
