Win10 mobile preview version is online: only a few devices are supported

If you have Windows Phone 8.1, you can install a preview app to get it, but since this is still an early preview, it might not be a good idea to install it on your regular device.

However, you may not even be able to install the system at all. Microsoft's Windows 10 Mobile Preview currently supports a small number of devices, including Lumia 630, 635, 638, 730, and 830, and Microsoft executive Joe Belfiore said the company will launch new features and new devices in the coming months.

Microsoft's two flagship phones, Lumia 1520 and 930, are currently unable to use the system, and Microsoft blames this on the new "partition stitching" feature. This new feature will allow Microsoft to dynamically adjust the operating system space. Microsoft executives explained: "Many larger phones have very tight operating system partitions."

Microsoft also warned that the initial technical preview will lack many features, which may make Windows Phone 8.1 users feel uncomfortable, such as dual SIM dual standby, SMS drafts, voice note sharing, Bi-Di language support, spam filtering, etc. However, these features will be gradually added in future versions.

Microsoft is using Windows 10 to significantly revamp the Windows Phone system, and will significantly upgrade the phone, calendar, mail, music, camera and messaging applications. Microsoft will also integrate turn-by-turn navigation and basic map services into one application. In addition, the settings page will be better organized, and the notification center will be foldable, and even notifications can be operated directly.
