12306 electronic temporary identity card is now available! Official explanation: Apply in five simple steps

According to @中国铁路官方微信, starting today (January 15), the 12306 mobile app will officially launch the function of issuing electronic temporary passenger identity certificates.

This function allows passengers to enjoy more convenient electronic and self-service, and can calmly deal with the situation when they forget to bring their ID cards. They only need to open the mobile app to apply for an electronic temporary identity certificate.

The official demonstrated the detailed operation steps, and the application can be completed in just 5 steps.

The details are as follows:

Open the Railway 12306 App and click [Warm Service] on the homepage.

Click [Temporary Identity Proof for Passenger Train Travel] in the Warm Service.

Fill in your identity information on the [Temporary Identity Proof] page, including your name and ID number, and click "Apply Now".

When a user who has logged in to the Railway 12306 App opens the [Temporary Passenger Identity Proof] page, the user's ID card information will be automatically displayed.

Notice:

1. When applying for an electronic temporary identification card, you need to authorize the location service.

2. The electronic temporary identification card currently only supports the Chinese Resident Identity Card.

Current applicants are required to undergo real-person verification.

After the real-person verification is passed, you can check the review results of the electronic temporary passenger identity certificate.

The QR code is updated every 60 seconds, and real-person verification is required again after 30 minutes. After a non-registered user closes the page, real-person verification is required again when viewing it. During the validity period of the electronic temporary identity certificate, viewing and real-person verification again do not count towards the number of applications.

Registered users of the Railway 12306 App can view relevant records of electronic temporary travel identity certificates applied for within 1 month.
