WHO concludes preliminary consultations on COVID-19 origin tracing in China (full text)

The National Health Commission announced on the evening of August 3 that, after consultation between the two sides, two experts from the World Health Organization will come to China from July 11 to August 2 to conduct preliminary consultations on scientific research cooperation on the origin tracing of the new coronavirus.

During their stay in China, experts from both sides held many talks and had in-depth exchanges on the progress of scientific research work in the fields of human population, environment, molecules, animal origin and transmission routes of the new coronavirus, as well as the next steps in scientific research plans.

At the same time, experts from both sides studied and formulated the Chinese part of the global scientific cooperation plan for tracing the origin of the new coronavirus in accordance with the spirit of the resolution on responding to the new coronavirus epidemic adopted by the 73rd World Health Assembly, and further studied the animal source, intermediate host and transmission route of the new coronavirus in order to better prevent and control the new coronavirus epidemic.
