Apple's WWDC 2017 Developer Conference has attracted unprecedented attention. The bottleneck of hardware growth has made management pay urgent attention to the monetization of the software ecosystem , and this has led to major changes in the App Store. In a nutshell, at a time when charts/searches are difficult to be effective , chart traffic is weakened , and human intervention factors (Today, Apps/Games' New Game/New Games We Love) are emphasized. The Beta version of the App Store gives people the feeling that the most beautiful apps have been intruded.

The official version will be released in the fall of iOS 11 (if you can't wait, you can download the Beta version first, the specific download method is at the bottom of the article). Apple's style has always been to keep its word. As soon as the press conference ended, the iTunes Connect developer backend immediately made four major adjustments: ① Added the Subtitle column , that is, the subtitle , 30 characters , and the name column remained unchanged ;
② Add a Promotional Text column , i.e. promotional text, 170 characters, above the description column; ③ Increase the number of preview videos from 1 to 3 , increase the depth of product content exposure and enhance potential users' desire to buy; ④ Product updates can be automatically released in stages , greatly reducing the trouble caused by bugs to users and reducing developers' testing costs. Although the starting point of the above four adjustments is for user experience , the fundamental purpose is to allow more potential products to increase exposure and expand the amount of exposed information, thereby retaining users .

Added Subtitle column, 30 more characters for subtitle

The addition of the Subtitle column allows for more text to display product information and also increases the inclusion of keywords (this is currently being tested and will be shared as soon as possible). Since iOS 11 has not been released yet, most users cannot see the information in the Subtitle column, and the main impact is on keyword inclusion.

Recommendations
① For existing product iterations, test the inclusion of keywords ; ② If there are many vest packages, test the maximum number of words allowed to pass the review ;

Add Promotional Text column

Promotional Text can let potential customers who visit your product app know about any current features of the product . The Promotional Text column information can be changed at any time without having to iterate through submission for review. It greatly facilitates the information transmission between developers and potential users, but after the release of iOS 11, it can only be used on devices with OS 11 or higher.

① For existing product iterations, use iOS 11 Beta to focus on Promotional Text ; ② Test whether it can be changed at any time and the frequency of change ;
③ Test the time when information is released after the change . Test related information will be released as soon as possible.

The number of preview videos increased to 3

After Apple added the preview video feature last year, it has become increasingly unstoppable. Editors have been focusing on recommending products with preview videos and have even set up special recommendation columns, which have increased to three this year. The surge in the number of preview videos is due to the rich information conveyed by videos and the love of them among users . For a long time, the purchase conversion rate of users for products with videos was higher than that for products with only screenshots . The increase in quantity can enhance the user experience before purchase and the exposure opportunities of the product, and also increase the production cost of CP accordingly.
Recommendations
① Find a professional video production team to customize the preview video, covering product content display, product usage scenario display, product prospect display and other aspects; ② Test the preview video effect through Beta version. Note : App preview videos must be in M4V, MP4, or MOV format and cannot exceed 500 MB.

Phased rollout of automatic updates

Starting June 5, 2017, you can enable "Phase-based Release for Auto-Updates" in iTunes Connect to release iOS app updates in phases. With staged rollouts, your version update will be released incrementally over 7 days to users who have auto-updates turned on .

Steps to release version updates in stages : ① On the iTunes Connect homepage, tap " My Apps " and select your app. ②In the left column, tap the app version you want to submit. ③In the " Phase release of automatic updates " section, select "Use". ④ Release in stages, release updates within 7 days.

⑤Click “ Save ”.

If you find any problems with the version update, you can pause the phased release at any time (the phased release can be paused for up to 30 days in total, with no limit on the number of pauses).

Recommendations
① Reduce the dependence on corporate accounts and shorten the product testing cycle by releasing test products in stages. ② In the current environment where corporate accounts are in great demand, this function can be used to reduce testing costs .
